A new biopic is in the works about the life and career of the legendary John Madden, who left the NFL to become a broadcaster. And the star of this coming opus? Nicolas Cage. 

I think Cage is a good actor for the most part, if a bit of a scenery chewer. But Madden? I suppose anything's possible, but I think the casting is very odd and there could have been somebody better to play the iconic role.

It wouldn't have been of major marquee value, but there's one person that could certainly fill those shoes - the incredible stand-up comic Frank Caliendo. It's a role he was born to play and already has. But whether he could ever play it straight is another matter.
