Big Changes To CFRB’s Late Evening Line-up

There are changes afoot (at ear?) for NT1010 listeners, beginning Monday. The normal line-up remains in place until after Barb DiGiulio’s Nightside ends at 10 pm.

That execrable sex show out of CJAD at 10 o’clock has been replaced with “Pole Position” featuring Jon Pole, a frequent fill-in. (Pole is also a co-owner of the MyFm stations across Ontario so you have to wonder where he finds the time.) He also hosts an 8-10 pm show on Montreal sister station CJAD, so either this will be live or taken from the one that airs there.

A simulcast of Lisa LaFlamme’s CTV National News airs next at 11 pm, followed by the Best Of The Roundtables half an hour later. That replaces the CJAD-originated comedy show.

Midnight brings the station’s latest attempt to go against the syndicated Coast to Coast at AM640, with a syndie show of its own. This one is called Beyond Reality Radio and deals with the usual topics of UFOs, angels, dream interpretations etc. etc. It runs from midnight to 2 am.

Some here may recall a few years ago when RB trumpeted the return of Art Bell and his new comeback show. It lasted only a few weeks, when someone started shooting at his house and he went back into retirement. 1010 quickly gave up on the show that was rushed on the air as its replacement.

Why not All Trump, All the Time Radio from midnight on?

Re: Big Changes To CFRB’s Late Evening Line-up

Can't they run something like "The Best of Wayne Van Exan" after midnight?

First announcer hired when CFRB-FM was launched.

Madness takes its toll.  Please have exact change.

Or simply host the show down a link LIVE as they have with other things from CJAD's studios, which I'm betting will be the case over taking segments of a local show to replay in Toronto.

When he fills in for Toronto, he does Toronto LIVE 7p to 8p, then simulcasts in both Montreal and Toronto.   You can tell when they do this, as he starts mentioning the Montreal Text number vs just Toronto's.  He also starts giving out only the CJAD toll free as well.

NT1010 is special. It's the only radio station that could even go all polka music all night long if it wants, and still manage to hold an 8.8 share for the rest of the programming.

RadioWiz & RadioQuiz are NOT the same person.

What's the logic in both talk stations running similar paranormal programming in direct competition with each other?  Certainly having alternate programming would be a better choice for listeners.  Granted, the midnight-1a hour was Best Of Jerry Agar and 1a-2a was Best of Jim Richards, that would, in my opinion, be a better option than listening to schizophrenic paranoid southern inbreeders waxing about their latest acid flashback.

Chasing TalkRadio 640's lead in the overnite time slot sounds like desperation on NT 1010's part.     Taxi drivers, tow truck operators and hookers are listeners too
