It's called "Have I Got News For You" and it's based on a British show.
"The BBC version of the program has been on the air since 1990 and the format features two teams of panelists answering questions about the news of the week. CNN is developing the U.S. version of the show with Hat Trick Productions, which produces the BBC program."
It starts airing Sept. 14th.

I saw their promo for this show yesterday and wondered if it was based on the British version. I look forward to it as I do follow news, and CNN could lighten up a bit!

The original HIGNFY is great but that's because of Ian Hislop and Paul Merton. Simply repeating the format won't work if they don't have the right panelists.

Front Page Challenge.

FPC wasn't a comedy though. So if CBC or another channel were to relaunch Front Page Channel today who would the panelists be in the place of Pierre Berton, Betty Kennedy, and Gordon Sinclair/Jack Webster/Alan Fothringham.
It's hard to think of modern broadcasters/journalists who would fit.

With today's near demise of print news, they might have to rename it Web Page Challenge.
