Here's What You Were Definitely Watching 55 Years Ago Saturday Night

I think it's safe to say that most of the world was tuned into this amazing event five and half decades ago on July 20, 1969. Still one of the most remarkable achievements in human history.

The Dire Straits "Money for Nothing" video used the relatively new Bosch FGS4000 for the primary foreground/moving character animation.   A Quantel Paint Box was used in the production as well, and it handled the backgrounds and textures,

I remember watching this as a kid in Zambia on a black and white TV, very exciting at the time and it is still remarkable that they made it!

One thing I noticed about those tv listings is that the CBC was broadcasting the 11pm news/weather/sports still in B&W. All the other channels had this programming in "color" as TV Guide would have printed it.
