Toronto Mike reports that Jamar McNeil is departing the CHUM-FM morning show to join Josie Dye on the station's afternoon shift, an announcement he confirmed Monday. No word yet who will replace him in the air chair alongside Marilyn Denis.

Prediction: Marilyn retires and new morning show is in place for the fall book.

Retiring is what I would also suspect.
Afternoon drive, a test run to see if all goes well, so the two can move to mornings and a new Afternoon drive will be found...that's my guess.

Marilyn Denis is 65 years old. Does she really listen to today's crappy music?

This makes a great deal of sense. Marilyn Denis joined the 104.5 morning show in July 1986 which means she has been getting up early for 38 years. That is five years longer than Roger Ashby [Sept. 1985-Dec. 2018] Ashby's retirement came at 69 when his two year contract ended. I wonder how many years remain on Denis's contract.

As many as she says there are.

Chemistry check time between the two? or else Josie eventually takes over the morning show solo and Jamar does the oddly short afternoon shift...or he could be switching to the afternoon gig to hold the fort on the days when Josie is making what's become regular tv guest appearances on CP24 and CTV's the Social.
Perhaps something else is being planned, possibly in the fall.

Haven't listened to CHUM-FM since about 1973. Are they still around?

Yes, they're quite profitable and just fine without you.

Whew, that's a relief. I would hate to be the one former listener before they turned into bland radio that kept them from success. Thanks so much.

While you're at it, how have the Leafs been doing?

If you've been out of the loop this long, don't get back in.

Apparently, Monday was the day Jamal McNeil officially joined the afternoon drive show on CHUM-FM, partnering with Josie Dye.
Luke Rodriguez, who does afternoon drive in Edmonton, is the temporary co-host with Marilyn Denis in the mornings. Who gets that gig permanently hasn't yet been announced.

And it won't. It'll be "The Marilyn Denis Show featuring Whoever's Around" until she decides to call it quits and J&J move to mornings.
