televised. Probably back to the 1970s?

While researching this [I didn't get an answer] I found something interesting about a non electrical blacked out Super Bowl. Up until 1972 the NFL had a hard rule that all home games including playoffs would be blacked out in a 75 mile radius of the stadium, sold out or not. This also applied to the 1972 Super Bowl between the Cowboys and Dolphins which was played at Tulane Stadium. This meant that the game was blacked out in a 75 mile radius from New Orleans. If you wanted to watch the game, an 80 mile drive to Baton Rouge would do the trick. There was such an uproar over this policy that the NFL amended its rule before the 1973 season that home games could be televised locally if the game was sold out 72 hours before kickoff. Oh Dallas won that game 24-3.

I remember perhaps 15 or 20 years ago, not all Ottawa Senators games were televised.
