CBC-TV Unveils More Than 40 New Series In Fall Slate

I'm not a CBC-TV fan, as many here are all too well aware of, but for those who are, here's what the Corp. is planning to show English Canadian viewers this coming fall. Anything there that seems like something you might watch?

CBC Unveils Over 40 New Shows for 2024-2025 Season

Looks like Heartland and Murdoch Mysteries are back for season 18.  Both of these CBC programs are popular in many countries.  And CW will be pleased that Wild Cards is back for season 2.  This show performed well for the network earlier in the year.

Saint-Pierre sounds like it could be really good although they better not mess around with the distinctive Newfoundland accent and beautiful countryside.

And the nifty plan b for the show Plan B concept might be successful and I'll be checking it out.

Fall rollout in tv land, let's throw everything at the wall and see what sticks!

Like RA, I am not a huge fan of what the CBC offers viewers each fall. This year is no different. Like every year I will stick with Corrie and Marketplace. For those of you who like what the Mother Corporation is providing, Enjoy!

The Fifth Estate, Marketplace, and The Passionate Eye are about it for me; and all three are very heavily "topic-dependent".

Looks like CBC will have more scripted shows than either ABC or FOX, who are going the game show/reality route.  I don't watch CBC much either, but do watch their news channel a lot. Should also mention The Nature Of Things. This year celebrating 64 years!  A show that you actually learn something from.  And another great program, The Fifth Estate with season 50 this year.

I wonder if any network will bring back or try any variety/comedy programming.  Variety shows haven't really been around since the mid to late 70's.

How about Battle of the Network (or Streaming) Stars?

I will def. check out St Pierre.  It stars Josephine Jobert, and she did a great job in "Death In Paradise" as Sergeant Florence Cassels which I watch on Britbox.
Basically the plot here sounds like DIP.  The formula for the series is a British inspector is sent to the fictional Caribbean Island of Saint Marie, which is really Guadalupe.
There, murder and dramedy ensue.

A reminder that all of these will also be available online on CBC Gem, so if you miss an episode when it eventually airs, it's free to catch up.

Aww yes. The series lasted 12 years [1976-88] and provided plenty of eye candy for males and females. For the record, ABC finished with seven victories, NBC and CBS had six each.

I was a huge fan of Republic of Doyle so I’m looking forward to Saint-Pierre!
