Is the Ross Atkins media address , showing a disconnect at Rogers?

Is today's media availability with Blue Jay's GM on a long weekend a microcosm of a macrocosm of Rogers as a whole?

I tend to believe it is.

The reports about today's Ross Atkins state of the union with the Jays suggest a few key points that I feel may be a vibe company wide.

1. Reports suggest, that Atkins, was not sympathizing with that fans anger and frustration of how they Jays have been playing so far this season. Overall company culture point 1. A lack of compassion.

2. A lack of a vision, it is business as usual for the team and the message from management is the players are good enough to right the ship and come around. Culture point 2. Ignoring what is so and the truth of the situation.

3. Atkins again shows a lack of accountability as we did at the  end of last season, when we indirectly through manager John Schneider under the bus. Culture point 3. Lack of accountability.

4. Buck Martinez, challenged Atkins today by suggesting the team isn't good enough to win, this got a little attention at today's media conference. Culture point 4. Not truly listening and tucking problems under the rug.

5. Lack of transparency and being authentic. I'd imagine a shitty team, and the money that has been spent on the stadium renovations aren't connecting. The new and improved stadium is nice, but it's only going to attract fans for so long if the product is just not getting it done. Culture point 5. A lack of authenticity.

6. My final point is this years player signings post Otani in December, have been extremely lackluster. Vogelbach, Votto, Turner are nice, but they aren't the answer to the teams lack of offense, or are the Jays putting quality first. Culture point 5. Patchwork isn't going to solve deeper issues from a team point of view or an overall organization point of view.

I feel these points not only cam out of the Jays media gathering today, and they reflect the culture at Rogers as a whole.

The conference happened on a long weekend too, where it was fully accessible for reporters and fans and it is coming off the Leaf's signing a new coach.

The video below details the disappointment by 2 guys who have a YouTube cast, called Blue Jays digest.

What's your take Big Yella?

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...

You can hear the fans clamoring that heads should roll for what the current Blue Jays are producing.  The owners, Rogers Communications Inc. are not baseball people.
Spending more than $400 million dollars on stadium renovations and increasing ticket prices are only ploys to increase revenues.  Jays president Mark Shapiro and, in hi ninth season as Blue Jays general manager, Ross Atkins, have done nothing to bolster the club to a championship calibre.
Prior to coming to Toronto, their tenure at Cleveland was a bust.  Atkins' latest attempts to add high-profile players to the team are a joke - you need more than AAA no-names.  The fans deserve more than just a fancy dressed-up ballpark.  It shouldn't take a manager close to 10 years to create a winner, if he has the baseball smarts necessary.  Heads should roll.

Nearly 40 thousand willingly gouged suckers in the stands today for another loss,  buying merch and $20 cans of beer.  Like Rogers cares?  PT Barnum would be proud of this organization.

What about the Leafs? 57 years of sold out or almost sold out games and not even remotely close to a Championship appearance.

The Leafs are in a class by themselves when it comes to customer rip-offs and disappointment.  However, those who continue to support this blatant robbery have nobody to blame but themselves.

Re: Is the Ross Atkins media address , showing a disconnect at Rogers?

The Jays are definitely not playing well and very frustrating for fans to watch.  Another frustration, for me, are when the games that are televised on Apple.  I don't have Apple but I do have the sports channels ( which I pay Rogers for!) Why should I have to pay again when they are being televised on Apple?
My rant!

Don't blame Rogers.  The deal is done through MLB.  The Jays or Rogers have no say.
