He's on vacation until almost the end of the month, with substitute hosts filling the 10 AM- noon timeslot. It starts on Monday, but those hoping for a different viewpoint on the show will be disappointed on day one - the first substitute host is Deb Hutton.
And thus begins the merry-go-round that is summertime in Toronto radio, with frequent abences for regular personalities, as they use up their vacation time. I have to say AM640 has vastly improved their bench strength. For a time, if it wasn't Arlene Bynon, they had to air a reroll. Now, they have a lot more on-air ammunition to choose from if one or even two regulars are gone for any length of time.

Don't listen to Agar. Too exhausting. But if Mark Twohey subs, I'll listen to him. A break from the constantly interrupting and talking-over Alex Pierson might be nice.

When I have heard Deb Hutton, I don't think she is like Jerry. True she is conservative but not the same mould as Agar and nowhere near as negative. Jerry comes across as a complainer, Deb seems to be more of a critic, and actually will offer an alternative.

Same old, same old, stopped listening to 'RB months ago.

Agar on vacation?
Is that going to cost me anything?
What sort of vacation is he going on?
How much will it cost?

Towhey is hosting The Rush, at least on Monday. So you can hear him, only later on in the day.

Jim Richards filling in today
Fabulous

Also Anthony Furey in for Alex Pierson down the dial. Apparently, she's under the weather so it may be just a one day thing. (And don't get me started on the weather again!)

I enjoy Anthony Furey. He even lets a guest or fellow host finish a sentence without interrupting or mumbling in the background. What a pleasant change.

Interesting sub for Agar on Thursday. The Toronto Sun's Brian Lilley is filling in for the vacationing host. He's a frequent guest on other shows, but love him or hate him (and there are lot here who feel the latter way) it's worth noting that I think this may be the first time he's ever hosted a radio show himself.
Is this another potential CFRB fill-in when summer vacation mania begins in earnest? I'll be curious to see how he does. Imagine if his colleague Anthony Furey is on 640, while Lilley battles him on 1010. An unusual scenario, but it could happen.

On RB, maybe. He was a frequent fill-in host on CFRA.

He hosted a show, 7 - 10 p.m., on CFRA for a few years in the mid-to-late-2010s.

Doesn't say much for open mouth radio when the most common "talent pool" for hosts is the Toronto Sun.

And remember he had a show on the defunct Sun News Network that morphed into the far-right wing Internet blight, The Rebel.
There he specialized in bashing the CBC.
I saw him on TV recently. He's fattened up noticeably but at least he's got rid of those ridiculous sideburns from the 70s.
