Leafs/Bruins First Round Final Big Ratings For Sportsnet/CBC/City/ABC
To nobody's surprise the Toronto Maple Leafs / Boston Bruins game 7 final was a hit for all networks that broadcast the game. In Canada over 5 million tuned in on Sportsnet, CBC and City TV stations. In the US ABC attracted a respectable 3.24 million viewers with a strong 18-49 share of 12. A breakdown of the numbers from brioux.tv

The Leafs are the Dallas Cowboys of the NHL. Both teams are ratings juggernaughts and do well in the regular season, but in the playoffs, not so much. While it has been almost three decades since the Cowboys last won a Super Bowl, they have managed to win five of them since the Leafs last won a Stanley Cup.
