Viewer Alert: 2 Sunday Night Music Specials Worth DVRing

They're both on WNED and they both air on Sunday night.

The first is called "In Our Own Time," the story of the Bee Gees. According to the description, this "profile of the Brothers Gibb features home movies and archival footage from a pop music career that spanned several decades and yielded dozens of hits." It airs from 7-9 PM Sunday night, with a repeat Tuesday, March 5th at midnight.

That's followed immediately by another show that would also seem to be well worthwhile. It's called "Carole King & James Taylor: Just Call Out My Name." This one is a "documentary about the creative pairing of Carole King and James Taylor, tracking the history of their partnership." It airs from 9-11 PM. Miss it and you can find it again on March 6th at 1:30 PM or March 8th at 3 AM.

Neither of these is new. The Bee Gees special is from 2021, while the King/Taylor retrospective was a CNN original, and was first shown on that news network back in early January 2022. But if you haven't seen either and are interested, they're brand new to you. And just as important, both are on free TV.

As always, beware of pledge breaks, which are common in these kinds of PBS shows.

Watched a great Brit Floyd show on PBS Detroit last night, 50 years of Dark Side of the Moon.
