Director Rob Reiner, who made the original mocumentary "This Is Spinal Tap," has confirmed he's working on a sequel to the beloved flick, due out in 2024. The plot centres on - what else? - a final farewell tour for the faux group, who apparently "hated" the film that made them famous.
Best of all, all the originals are coming back for the movie.

There's a deep well of talent there, but I fear it'll turn out to be a damp squib instead of a Station Nightclub-style blaze.

Harry Shearer weighs in on the upcoming sequel, which begins filming in February, as well as his years (35 and counting!) with The Simpsons, his time on SNL and why he despises Lorne Michaels, and his love of radio.

Why not? People still shell out ridiculous amounts of money to see geriatric versions of the Stones, Journey, Kansas and many other bands 40 years past their best before dates. Maybe Spinal Tap can skewer the whole genre. It could be very entertaining, in a sad and pathetic kind of way.
