Truth or exaggeration? Read the article and you can decide. I do know this - if I were to ever buy an EV, I would pay extra to ensure it had an AM radio in it as an option.
Now the question is, what happens if a bill before the U.S. government mandating that electric vehicles must have an AM radio actually passes?
Automaker Group Says Keeping AM Radio In EVs Could Cost $3.8 Billion

The clock in the photo is 11:48 AM. The radio is set to 720. Could the driver be listening to WGN?

I thought that, too. It's almost certainly WGN, unless the pic was taken in some far off place in the U.S.
And by the way, I'm pretty sure that's not a photo from a EV. It wouldn't likely have an AM radio in it, but even if it did, there would be a screen and not the old fashioned push button selectors for a few stations. (Which I dearly miss in my new car!)
But there's one other curious thing about that pic - did you notice the temperature display on the far upper right appears to be in Celsius?

The worst AM radio you’ve ever heard, buried in a sea of menus.

You don't notice that the speedometer is in KMs? NOT miles...
