Exactly 63 Years Ago Tonight, This Was On Every TV Station
History records that Nixon won for those listening on the radio, while a suave Kennedy beat him on TV. It was Sept. 26, 1960. And if you were watching primetime TV in the U.S., this was hard to escape - the first of its kind for television.

It took me a while to find the right one, but it was from the 1960 Fall Preview issue, the Lake Ontario edition. The channels mentioned in the debate preview were:
2 -WGR
3- CKVR
4- WBEN
5- WROC (Eventually to be Channel 8, but not yet)
6- CBLT
7- WKBW
10 - WHEC/WVET (Shared time station)
11 -CHCH
12- WICU, Erie
13-CKCO
Every one of them aired the debate, even the Canadian stations.
