August 16th The Day Of Kings and Queens
Wednesday August 16th is the anniversary of the death of the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley.
Also the anniversary of death of the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.
The Queen of Pop Madonna celebrates her 65th birthday on the 16th of August
And finally the King of the Delta Blues Singers, Robert Johnson died on August 16th.
Musicologist Gene Stevens is going to highlight all of this on Sunday Aug 13th at 2pm on his show Vintage Favourites..Gene is also going to play number #1 songs from this week from the 1920's through to the 90's.

Babe Ruth also died on Aug 16, in 1948 at the age of 53.
