Plenty more liars to go.
Good riddance.

It's an encouraging step - looks like they're trying to pre-empt the effects of the next lawsuit.

Where does Carlson go next? Minutes ago on Nicole’s show on MSNBC, we were presented with the
possibility of him running for president. Imagine how that could turn the world upside down.

What a shame it is when crazy people don't realize that they're crazy. Hasn't the Disunited States of America had enough crazy people in elected office yet?

The sad thing is he will remain a multi multi millionaire and heir to the Swanson family tv dinner fortune.
But I hope he still fells a real sting for being thrown out so unceremoniously.

Given my memory of Swanson TV dinners from many, many years ago, the fact that Tucker descended from a family that produced such banal fake food shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Boy, do they want this to go away fast.
I decided to watch the opening of the new show, Fox News Tonight, in Carlson's old timeslot on Monday. On came host Brian Kilmeade who said, "As you probably have heard, Fox News and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways, I wish Tucker the best. I'm great friends with Tucker and always will be. But right now, it's time for Fox News Tonight, so let's get started."
And with that, the Tucker Carlson era at Fox abruptly ended. I can only wonder what those who never watch anything but his show for "news" are thinking right now, suddenly discovering their hero is no longer with the network.
How valuable was Carlson to Fox? Minutes after the story came out in the late morning, Fox stock dropped 3%, costing the network millions of dollars in losses. But this being a place where facts don't matter, I suppose they can just say it never happened.

Whatever the reason behind the firing, it certainly is proving costly for Carlson. Forbes Magazine has an estimate about how much executives were paying him yearly for his "services."
"Carlson, 53, was making between $15 million and $20 million a year hosting “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Fox News’ staple one-hour long nightly talk show, according to a person familiar with contract negotiations at Fox and other networks. That salary makes him one of the highest paid people in the industry, this person said. “He has more leverage than anyone else,” they said. “He could pick up and go anywhere … before this.”
So what is the actual reason for his stunning dismissal? Turns out it may not have been the big election lie about voting machines. The L.A. Times claims there was another explanation that, if true, proves not even conservative Fox can stand in the glare of sexual harrassment.
"Carlson’s exit is related to the discrimination lawsuit filed by Abby Grossberg, the producer fired by the network last month, the sources said. Carlson’s senior executive producer Justin Wells has also been terminated, according to insiders.
Grossberg was moved off of “Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo” and onto “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” where she alleged she was bullied and subjected to antisemitic comments, according to a lawsuit in New York."
Which means there could be more to come on this. A lot more.

This person familiar with contract negotiations at Fox and other networks who thinks that Carlson could pick up and go anywhere prior to this mess doesn't know what they are talking about. Even before the Dominion lawsuit and whatever reason he was fired today, Carlson was damaged goods and has been for a while. No credible network would have touched him. He would have had to do a major reversal on his style and opinions before anyone would think of hiring him.
He is 53 likely worth over 100 million, he doesn't need to do anything on television again. He will write a book or two, maybe be involved with a some sort of movie bio down the road on his career. If he does return somewhere it will be in a diminished role for much less money. He could end up with a campy sleazy talk show somewhere or a maybe conservative trashy AM talk show.
Hopefully he will fade away just like that other arrogant host that he replaced.. Bill O'Reilly.

Looks like Tucker has already had an offer. Russian "state media" network RT is courting the newly released Fox personality. More from Newsweek..

An observation was once made that the on-air expression on Tucker's face is that of someone watching a person eat big spoonfuls of mayonnaise straight out of a jar.

You have to give Tucker credit for having a first name that rhymes so well.

Opinion piece on CNN's website today speculates that Tucker was damaged goods. The negatives of keeping him around had outweighed the positives.

As you might expect, the networks' late-night hosts had a field day with Carlson's ouster. You can see many of their monologues from Monday night here.

Too bad that SNL will not be live this coming Saturday April 29th. Between the cold open skit, and Weekend Update they would have had a heyday with the happenings of this week.

I'm surprised that I'm not surprised by this. It could be all-out war between Tucker and his former employer, and the latter is taking up arms early.
"Eight people familiar with the situation tell Rolling Stone that Fox News and its communications department — long led by the notoriously aggressive Irena Briganti — has assembled damaging information about Carlson. One source with knowledge calls it an “oppo file.” Two sources add that Fox is prepared to disclose some of its contents if execs suspect that Carlson is coming after the network.
The file includes internal complaints regarding workplace conduct, disparaging comments about management and colleagues, and allegations that the now-former prime-time host created a toxic work environment, three of the sources say."
How'd you like to be working there?

That's not much of a threat from Fake News. Aside from Carlson's obvious lies and support for Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine, which have been widely known for a very long time, there's the litigation claims of a toxic workplace by former-Fake News/Carlson producer Abby Grossberg.
In other words, anyone who's been conscious for the past six or seven years already knows how horrific Tucker Carlson was and is.
We don't need Fake News executives to tell us what we already know, and what everyone NOT infected with the MAGA brain disease should already be aware of.
The real information I'm interested in learning is how can anyone who has, at the very least, graduated from kindergarten fall for Fake News' nonsense, over and over again?
First Murdoch poisoned Australian society. Then, he must have thought, "Why not blow up Britain and America too?" Such a vile human being.

It has already gotten to even higher idiotic lengths. Marc Patrone on Sauga960, who is very right wing, played a tape of some commentator who claims that Carlson was fired because he wouldn't tow the Rupert Murdoch line. What is that supposed to be? The guy honestly said it's because Murdoch wants to start World War III with Russia via Ukraine and Carlson wouldn't go along with it.
And these guys are allowed to spout this shit on the air?
Worse yet, it appears Patrone agrees with this idea. How are these completely absurd lies and provable falsehoods allowed on Canadian media? (What Murdoch would have to gain with the world in flames is beyond me. For one thing, no one would be left to watch his TV channel!)
