Legend Red Robinson Passes At 86
Just posted an article and information on Red Robinson earlier today. Sorry to report that Red passed away Saturday morning just days after his 86th birthday. More from radiofan at RadioWest.ca..

Very sad to hear this. A true radio and Top 40 format pioneer in Canada and one who's contribution to the industry is legendary.

Red Robinson also ran his own website, filled with memories of the music he played. His last post was in January of this year, an obit paying tribute to Jerry Blavat, The Geator with The Heater, another legendary DJ who became a legend in Philadelphia.

I got to spend some wonderful moments with Red when I was living in Vancouver. A lunch here and there and always a smiling face.
This is what Red posted on his Facebook page just one day ago...."Tomorrow is a special day for me. Not just because it's April Fools' Day, but that day marks two milestones in my radio career.April 1, 1957: the beginning of a new era as 20-year-old Robert "Red" Robinson makes the move from CJOR to CKWX.".

I grew up listening the Red. He was a legend from a young age and an icon of Vancouver society.
He lived a golden life in radio and entertainment.

Once again, the Globe & Mail obit is weeks late, but they usually give their subjects a good send-off.
