Jay Brody works for Sonic Radio in B.C., but he wasn't always in broadcasting. He recalls a moment when he was working as a bodyguard for Mike Myers on one of his films and he claims he was fired by the star for the most ridiculous of reasons.
That film, by the way, was called "The Love Guru" and is considered by many critics to be one of the worst movies in recent history. So there's that.
You can hear Brody's version of the story here.
Radio DJ claims Mike Myers had him fired from set for looking at him

In thinking about this story, I have to wonder: how can you possibly act as a bodyguard for someone when you're not allowed to look at him? It seems impossible to keep an eye out for someone's safety when you can't keep an eye out for him at all.

I believe he was told to go, but the story seems sketchy. Implausible.

This story, as you might have guessed, went viral, appearing in sources ranging from TV websites to Newsweek. Because of all that attention, Myers has now responded through a spokesperson. And he insists it never happened.
Which has left the B.C. DJ spinning a new version of the story.
"On a phone call, a representative for Myers initially told Entertainment Weekly that the actor did not have a bodyguard on the set of The Love Guru, and that his team wasn't aware of any terminations with relation to Brody's allegation. When reached for a response, Brody clarified his allegations to EW in a text message, saying that he was not a bodyguard, as initially indicated, but rather a "security guard assigned to the location around his trailer, including his trailer," and that he "didn't travel with him, but was posted on set" at Myers' trailer."
