It was called "Goodbye, Farewell & Amen" and it was the final episode ever of the TV classic M*A*S*H. It aired on CBS the night of Feb. 28, 1983 and turned into the biggest audience ever amassed by a single regularly scheduled television show back in a time when there were no streaming options.
That last extended "event" drew an eye-popping 106 million viewers, an almost unthinkable number these days. It remains the single most watched scripted TV show in history. Pretty amazing and with so many choices these days, a record likely never to be broken.
