    Richard Belzer Dead at 78

    I was saddened to read that Richard Belzer passed away at his Southern France home today at the age of 78. I loved his character John Munch On Homicide: Life on the Street and SVU. What I did not know was that at one time he was a standup comedian and warmed up the Saturday Night Live audience in the shows early days.

    On this weeks episode of Law and Order SVU, Fin [ ICE-T ] made a reference to a former co-worker that to me described Munch. He didn't mention a name . I didn't know Belzer had passed until seeing this just now. I still have an old comedy album , National Lampoon ' That's not funny, it's sick ' which featured Belzer as  " Dick Ballantine " . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Ballantine
