"Weird Al Story" Now Streaming For Free Online On Roku Channel

The best part is that you don't need to be a subscriber or have a Roku box to see it. You can watch it gratis on their website with a VPN set to the U.S.

The article below indicates you can watch it in Canada, but I haven't been able to get it to work when I tried. Your mileage may vary.

It's the biggest item ever shown on Roku's streaming service. I watched it and found it enjoyable, although totally unbelievable. Which, I'm pretty sure, was exactly the point.

I had hopes for this movie.  I love Weird Al.
To my disappointment the show is just parody with made up stuff.
Yeah it's kinda funny but I wanted to see the real story of Al's life with how he came to write his best parodies.
Maybe his actual life is just too dull to make a movie out of.

I've read that they deliberately did that, because even his own "life story" is a parody. But yes, I was also disappointed that they took that route instead of actually telling his real history, which I think would be even more compelling. Truth is stranger than fiction, after all, but sadly not in this movie. It was still entertaining, but it could have been even more.

I never knew that CFTR once carried Dr. Demento, one of the many characters in the Weird Al movie, until I uncovered this from somewhere in my collection of useless crap! Oct. 19th, 1975 was a Sunday but I wonder what time and for how long they ran it?

Re: "Weird Al Story" Now Streaming For Free Online On Roku Channel

The year we did the CASBY Awards at Kingswood, I invited Dr. Demento to be a presenter. He was very shy and quite wonderful - all at the same time.

Of course a lot of us "behind the mic" are shy. Perhaps that's why we're "behind" the mic. :-)
