Looking for an unknown song recorded from CFNY in 1984

From Alan Cross's blog: https://www.ajournalofmusicalthings.com/interested-in-solving-some-musical-mysteries-try-to-identify-these-songs/

I've been interested in song #4 (often called "Season at the CIA") for a while, doesn't look like it's been discussed here before. Anyone know what it is? The most likely theory seems to be that it was one of the entries in the Great Ontario Talent Search in 1984 or 1985.

It's not findable with Shazam or searching lyrics, obviously.

The CIA has buried it, no doubt.

2 years later, still buried.

Hard to find much iabout the talent search. Some info I found on how it worked around 1985-86 (of course it could have varied by the year): Judges narrowed the hundreds of entries to 6 finalists which were played on the radio for voting. There was also a program called "Best of the Rest" which aired on Sundays, featuring contestants that didn't make it to the finals.

I'm convinced that if this song was indeed a talent search entry, it must have aired on this Best Of The Rest show if that was also a thing in 1984. Seems like someone would have recognized it by now if it was a finalist.
