Ratings For Queen's Funeral Not As High As Forecast

The numbers are showing not as many people tuned into the Queen's funeral as originally predicted.  Figures of over 4 billion worldwide were unlikely, although no numbers have been released for viewership around the globe. In the UK the Queen's funeral was likely the 10th most viewed event of all time, trailing several royal weddings and the funeral of Diana.

In Canada, it is complicated since Numeris doesn't release numbers to the public anymore and the networks appear to be trying to manage and control the information.  Bill Brioux has some numbers and some thoughts on the lack of rating details on brioux.tv...https://brioux.tv/blog/2022/09/26/how-many-canadians-really-watched-the-royal-funeral-last-monday/

Ratings for Queen's funeral suggest more people in UK watched Euro final last year

Historian Dr Andrew Keil commented on the figures being lower than anticipated."Interesting comparison to audiences for the EURO2020 final," he noted. "Also means that only about less than half of the UK population tuned in [when there was hardly any alternative thing to do than watch the state funeral]."

I suspect that people have seen enough depressing news in the last two years and just found something else to do.

A wedding is a celebration and a funeral is... a funeral.

Biggest challenge with the funeral in North America was the hour it started, especially for those in the Mountain and Pacific time zones. And it was a work day for almost everyone.

If I remember correctly, Diana’s funeral was on a Saturday.

In case you haven't seen this video yet.

As a voice actor I marvel at the brilliant delivery and timing.

Too soon?

What's the minimum threshold for "reached" - ie if you saw only 5 minutes of the wall to wall coverage does that qualify as having been "reached"?
