They found a way to make radio work in markets where it otherwise wouldn't.
Of course the music is just a skim from the top, that's the best bet if you're the only local station.
The news, community calendars, road-crew cut-ins, and even the commercials make them sound more local than many of the stations in bigger markets.
They've re-thought what local means, and have been quite successful at it.
