A Century Of WGN Celebrated On The Station's Website

I know there are only a few of us here that are really into this history, but I just noticed that WGN Chicago has an extensive history and other exhibits on its website, with more being added every week, if you're interested. The actual anniversary date is May 19th.

Re: A Century Of WGN Celebrated On The Station's Website

I don't know if we'll be able to see this here or whether they'll one day post it on their website, but WGN-TV in Chicago will have an hour special on the radio station's 100th birthday and its storied history. It's scheduled to air on Thursday, May 19 at 8pm and Sunday, May 22 at 3pm (our time.)

Would love to see it, if we can. I'll keep an eye out for it and if it turns up, I'll post the link here.

Yeah, but I'm not sure if it's the actual Chicago WGN or a special feed that goes across North America. I understand there's a difference in programming on the two. Unless that's changed in the past year or so. I thought they'd converted it to an all news station, which did not do well. What it is now, I'm not even sure.

RA: I believe you are referring to WGN  America/News Nation. My Rogers guide shows  WGN airing Young Sheldon. Last Man Standing, Maury, etc.

The Chicago Tribune looks back at one of the iconic radio stations in North America.

WGN Radio celebrates its 100th anniversary as the ‘Voice of Chicago,’ a legacy AM station still making waves — despite losing the Cubs
