May 2, 1967.

The date of the last Maple Leaf Stanley Cup victory. The team is currently tied with the New York Rangers for the dubious honour of sharing the longest time between Cup victories [1940-1994 and 1967-2021] The Leafs will most likely own the record at the conclusion of this year's playoffs. Before worrying about winning the Stanley Cup, perhaps it would be better to concentrate on actually stringing together four more victories in the next week or so, something that has not been accomplished since 2004.

To paraphrase the Rolling Stones, this would be the last time...

Toronto already holds the record for longest Stanley Cup drought by years. Even if they win the Cup, it will have been 55 years between Stanley Cup championships for the Leafs (1967-2022). The Rangers held the former record of 54 years (1940 to 1994).
