NBC hit a new low for ratings this past Sunday evening. Other than the respected 6:30 Nightly News, the network had no programming that surpassed 2 million viewers. The Peacock chose to repeat two new series- AGT Extreme and Endgame. At 10pm was a repeat of their long standing hit Law and Order which only had an audience of 1.1 million viewers. Also note the prime time numbers for CW Network. With 220 affiliates and 154,000 viewers for March at 9pm would be an average of 700 viewers for the show per affiliated station.
CTV import Transplant will certainly have it's work cut out for it on March 6th in the 10pm NBC timeslot. The lead in for the scripted drama will be a remake of the game show The Weakest Link hosted by Jane Lynch. Here are last Sunday's ratings courtesy of Showbuzz Daily.

NBC is holding off the return of The Weakest Link for at least a week. Instead this evening the lead in for Transplant at 10pm will be an hour interview with former Trump US Attorney General Bill Barr. Lester Holt is hosting the hour long sit down that is promoting Barr's new book In the Eye of The Storm. The network has been running clips of the chat over the past three days on newscasts and the Today Show.
It will be interesting to see if NBC's ratings improve over the poor showing last Sunday. NBC is also premiering a new dating competition game show The Courtship at 8pm. This program is sort of like the Bachelorette but set in 19th century England.

Speaking of NBC ratings, the revival of Law & Order performed well in its first week, but took a nosedive in its second week:
I really hope it succeeds, as I like the courtroom aspect of the show which its spin-offs focus a lot less on.

Looking at the FOX animation ratings, I see The Great North underperforms Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, and The Simpsons. I really wonder how long that show can last; I’ve watched it a bunch of times and just can’t get into it.

As predicted, "Transplant" got killed in the ratings during its Season 2 debut on NBC. (Although it wasn't the worst show on the networks Sunday night. The semi-documentary show "March" wound up with a 0.0 rating in adults on the CW. Which makes me think the CW stands for "Can't Watch."

A poor start for the return of Transplant on NBC. The numbers also magnify the problem that the network is having on Sunday evening. NBC's much promoted debut of The Courtship at 8pm didn't even hit one million viewers. In fact NBC, FOX and CW are all on life support prime time on Sunday .Very strange that a repeat of the Simpsons at 7pm would draw almost 4 million viewers and a new episode in the regular time slot at 8pm would have only 1.47 people watching.

8 pm Sunday night is a big time slot for cable. TLC's most popular show 90 Day Fiancé often draws 2 million viewers.

Perhaps FOX had run a late afternoon college basketball game. March Madness starts on the 17th.

Transplant's days may be coming to an end on NBC. Apparently last Sunday was the worst rating ever for a scripted series show on the network. Sunday evening programming has been a problem for NBC for years. Last year Transplants ratings were a bit above average on Tuesday and the show normally won it's timeslot. The program did very well with viewing later in the week on PVR and streaming. Tonight the Weakest Link will lead in for Transplant. This could be the shows swan song tonight. The reboot of Night Court could help NBC with their ratings, the cast and premise sound promising.
I'm not so keen on everyone in the current new Law and Order cast, there's something missing with the show, pacing, camera work, chemistry... don't know yet.

Well, that sank like the proverbial stone. This was the lead-in for Transplant, which as the article notes, still managed to improve its numbers following this abysmal reality show.
