The man loves radio...
Toronto Mike reaches his 1000th episode.

Congratulations T.O.M. 1,000 episodes is a real milestone. (Just think how it will play in syndication!)

Thank you!
So many FOTMs contributed to #1000, including Dani Elwell! Here's the page for this milestone ep:

For a moment I thought he'd passed away! The subject line convention on this board is generally a single name alone, and nothing else, reflects a death. Any chance of an edit to read "Toronto Mike Reaches 1000th Episode"?
That aside, I enjoy the podcast greatly and here's to another 1000!

Good suggestion and done!
By the way, Mike, you should think about linking to your very first ever episode if it still exists, so fans could hear how it all started and how far you've come all these years later.

All 1000 episodes (including a few bonus unnumbered episodes!) remain in the feed. You can subscribe here:
I'd link directly to ep one, but I doubt it was any good! A wiser move might be to cherry pick a guest from here:

How are all of Cheryl's teams doing?
I love the deep cut. Time to schedule Cheryl's Open Mike for tomorrow at 7am.

Congratulations Mike. It was an honour to be on your show. The biggest reason? Your absolute passion for the medium.

Congratulations Mike, that's a terrific milestone.
Is there anyone you'd like to have on the podcast that you haven't yet?

There are many still on my hit list... a couple of radio guys who turned me down are John Derringer and Bob McCown.
I'm also still looking for Chris Sheppard and still working on Mike Cooper.
I'd also very much like to get Moses Znaimer on Toronto Mike'd.

Mike is like magic. I love when someone gets an idea and then makes it become even bigger than they had imagined. Lots of hard work with so many late night dreams becoming reality. Plus - he is one fine interviewer.
Standing ovation to you Mike. BTW - You've only just begun.......d

David, my (almost) two hours with you was magic. We should do it again.

Mike, I hope Coop agrees. Working with him was legendary fun. And it goes without saying that I was very honoured to be on your roster.
Chris, I loved our chat! Put in a good word for me with Coop.

Congrats Mike. So who's on your "want list" for the second 1,000?

I'm looking to collect all the important stories... so many conversations to be had.
Next week, for example, I have Jaymz Bee, Donovan Bailey, and Tom Jokic. I'm looking forward to all three.
(by the way, I love suggestions... so if anyone has a guest suggestion, or better yet, can introduce me to someone who would be a great guest, let me know. I'm mike@torontomike.com)

And kudos from the mayor. That's a nice touch

Hey Mike, listener FOTM.
It was honestly a walk down memory lane with me. Bowling for Dollars! Are you kidding me, I loved that show. I just wonder why no current Newstalk 1010 people were on. Does Bell Media actually have a restraint of trade clause?
Your podcast is the only honest exit interview I actually trust.
Please try to get Stafford, he is one broadcaster I really miss.

Jay and Ryan did come on to promote the Rush, but John Moore (who wanted to come on) was told he can't. I've also been denied access to several other Bell Media news personalities. I've actually had Corus PR and Rogers PR help facilitate interviews, so I'm rather puzzled by why Bell Media does this.
Meanwhile, I was on CBC's Here and Now yesterday.

It takes two to tango here... I've had Stafford over twice, and thoroughly enjoyed both conversations. I'd happily have him over a third time.
By the way, a special Toronto radio episode of Toronto Mike'd records today at 1pm. It features a legendary radio personality you know and love.

Nice work on the appearance Mike. It's one of the few times I've listened to anything on CBC Radio! Congrats on your self-earned success.

Don't know if you've had David Haydu (Geets Romo), but he can spin a yarn like nobody else.

Ever try to get Bob Holiday, the former ND from CFTR during its rock years, on? I was a big fan of his and he's in his early 80s now. I'd love to hear what he has to say about his time at CFRB, 'TR and trying to make a go of CJCL as one of the very first all talk stations in Toronto.

I have not! As a one-man-shop, reaching out to potential guests and scheduling them can be tough and I absolutely appreciate it when someone emails me and introduces me to a great future guest.
I'm pretty sure my 1pm guest today is the result of a SOWNY board contributor.

I sure will. I’ll be chatting with him over the long weekend.
Thank you Chris! Thanks to your suggestion, Mike Cooper dropped by this afternoon for 90 minutes of #realtalk.
