This is an amazing stat if it's true - and the Buffalo News' Alan Pergament swears it is. Buffalo outrated every other market in the United States for Super Bowl viewers - including Cincinatti, which actually played in the final! That is simply incredible.
"The game had a 47.9 rating and 79 share on WGRZ-TV, the local NBC affiliate. That means 47.9% of televisions in the Buffalo market were watching the game and 79% who were watching anything on television were watching it.
"The Cincinnati market was No. 2 with a 46.1 rating... Los Angeles was outside the Top 10 with a 36.7 rating."
You can only imagine what the numbers might have been had the Bills won that playoff game.

I wasn't just the Superbowl where Buffalo excelled in viewership. According to Sports Business Journal, Buffalo averaged the highest average ratings share for the entire season at 47.2. Rounding out the top five were K.C. 45.3, Milwaukee 41.6, N.O. 40.9 and Pittsburgh 36.5.
