A cartoon one-off was released a few decades back. It wasn't a hit.

I love Bloom County - and follow the new series on Facebook - but isn't this coming about 30 years too late? No one under 50 or so would have a clue what Bloom County is.

I suspect Fox hopes it will become part of its Animation Domination Sunday block of shows and the fact Breathed is involved may be the only thing that gives me even a small bit of hope that it could work.

They'd have to get a whole new audience - but it has potential - the comics he's been putting online the past few years are as good as they were in the 80s.
