Sportsnet Hockey

Rogers Hometown Hockey? Sure, if you pay for subscription-required Leafs TV, you get the Leafs in Winnipeg
tonight. If you don't, Flyers and Avalanche at Wells Fargo is as close as you get in the GTHA.
Comment: Sucks!

Indeed.  The Winnipeg game was yesterday and broadcast on TSN.

Re: Sportsnet Hockey

The game was on TSN 3 in the Leafs area and TSN 4 in the Jets broadcast zone.

Re: Sportsnet Hockey

Leafs TV hasn't carried live Leafs games in years.

Re: Sportsnet Hockey

I love it when Leaf fans complain about the TV coverage of their team.  Every game is on basic cable, many get national coverage, and any Leaf game simulcast on Sportsnet and CBC can be watched on CBC Gem and cbcsports.ca for free.  If that still isn't enough, Leaf Nation Network (as it has been called for the last three years) doesn't syphon any live games away from TSN or Sportsnet, but plays the most recent game over and over ad nauseum for the next two days in case you somehow missed it, and can be added to most TV packages for $4/month.  You're fine.

Re: Sportsnet Hockey

I thought it was unusual to have a game with two American teams on Hometown Hockey. Maybe it's happened before, but I can't recall it occurring and I didn't have any interest in this matchup ... I wonder how many others felt the same way. There was an Ottawa game in the same timeslot, but perhaps they didn't have the rights to broadcast it.

Re: Sportsnet Hockey

The Ottawa game was a re-scheduled game postponed when the Senators had lost 10 or so players who were in a Covid situation.
TSN held the rights to that game.

Re: Sportsnet Hockey

Thanks for the info, Ale Ont. The move from Sunday to Monday might have also made it more likely that they sometimes won't be able to have a Canadian team involved.

Re: Sportsnet Hockey

I am now retired and it is a long winter ...so for the past few years I have just shelled out for the NHL package.
I know this is why the blackouts exist but would rather just pay for it and be done with it.
