It appears to be new and not rebuilt. Much smaller than the older one. They never mentioned switching to Ignite TV.

Ignite boxes look like this. They do no have Coax connections either... If this is what you got, you got moved to ignite.
You likely didn't and got lucky and got a new one that may not have been assigned now that they are not taking orders for new customers on legacy.

That's what I figured. If it's new, you likely got lucky... It seems loads get recycled back into service at this point. Only an assumption, but they likely have a few new ones that now are being used for replacements with the change of approach.

If it came in a box, it is new. If it was shrink-wrapped, it has been previously used.

So then, the key word is refurbished.

I've gone through a few of these boxes, as have many others. Rogers staff at more than one outlet, have told me that no brand new units (only refurbished) have been available; since Ignite was introduced. Some of the latter August 6, '21 comments posted on this Sowny thread, cover this.

No, we had a Hamlin converter with the slide bar, and the illuminated channel strip. Later replaced with a Lindsay Jet 1 with the IR remote control...

My parents had one of those. A miracle no one ever tripped over the cord.
