No local News in London
Sunday night at 6:00 I tuned in for the local news on CTV2 London. It wasn't there, instead they were just pumping through the CTV NewsChannel. It's bad enough when they put the Windsor show on in London but at least there is some local content... last night NOTHING at all.I flipped to CTV Kitchener and it was football, so no News there either.
Bell doesn't seem to care much for serving it's local markets with News and on the eve of a Federal Election even more disgraceful.

Sunday nights during NFL season is the same in Ottawa. With CTV carrying a football doubleheader, there is no early show.
And with CBC doing a provincial show, Ottawa, Canada's capital, has no 6 pm local news. They throw in a brief (two minutes maybe) update during the game, but that is it.
CTV2 does not run evening news at all, and CITY and Global have just transmitters here.

Last night, Barrie's news was at 5:30 then they aired CTV Toronto's news at 6

At one point, didn't City TV Toronto (Rogers) have some Football to cover? They tried cancelling week-end news altogether, but the CRTC wasn't happy with that.
Is Bell doing something that might be upsetting the CRTC currently?

No. Their regular news schedule lands slightly over their licensed requirement, giving them the ability to skip casts from time-to-time.

CTV Ottawa does at least still produce a 6pm Sunday cast, which runs online and on CFRA.

Are any of the newscasts on line? CTV Kitchener was doing this when NFL football pre-empted their news on the weekend for the 6pm newscast. I don't know if they have continued for this year however, and I wonder if many went to their website to watch the news. London and Windsor go back and forth covering the news on the weekend, but all of the NFL games pre-empt the local casts and I never checked to see if any are on line. CTV Windsor has some pretty good on air talent.
I was surprised/disappointed that Global has no Ottawa local station. One reason why Global isn't quite in the same league nationally as CTV and CBC for news.

They do at least have a bureau there. When Kevin Newman anchored Global National, it was from Ottawa (at least at first)

When NFL football is on, the CTV Toronto 6pm newscast airs on CP24.
Both the 6:00 pm & 11:30 pm CTV newscasts are simulcast on CP24 every day. What I really appreciate is the fact that CTV still produces the Sunday 6:00 pm newscast (for airing on CP24 only) during the NFL season.

The 6 PM TV news audio also airs on NT1010 seven days a week.
