WBZ Boston - the former home of Larry Glick and other legendary New England broadcasters - will be celebrating a century on the air on Sept. 19, 2021. They've officially begun the countdown 100 days early, with highlights from the past and retrospectives of some of their more famous moments.
An amazing station and still one of the best.

WBZ was one of the first stations I discovered while DXing in the mid 1960's. Many legendary voices I heard over the years were Bruce Bradley, Dick Summer, David Brudnoy, Jerry Williams, Norm Nathan, Gil Santos, Bob Raleigh and Larry Glick [617-254-5678] I still remember their phone number!

I was one of the producers of the 75th anniversary celebration, and it still feels like something very recent.

The station already has a decade-by-decade webpage timeline up, going from the 2010s all the way back to the 1930s. Some great pics from all those eras are included.

From the photo, the only names I remember are Carl De Suze, Dave Maynard, Bruce Bradley and Dick Summer. Of course, in their photo, none of them look like I imagined them to look, hearing them on the radio.
