Recording Any Network Shows Thursday? You May Need To Reset Your DVR

U.S. President Joe Biden will be giving his first primetime address on Thursday night and all the U.S. networks will be covering it. It's not expected to last long, but it's about to play havoc with TV schedules in two countries. NBC's Superstore, for instance, will now air at 8:30 PM instead of half an hour earlier - that is, if Biden doesn't go on too long.

ABC plans to start its drama bloc soon after the President's done, but exactly when that is, no one can say.

And then there's the Canadian stations which simulcast all these delayed shows, like "Grey's Anatomy."  What do they do? Well, at least this time, they know it's coming so they have time to adjust. Whether they delay the start of their own programming in the Eastern time zone or not remains to be seen. But what happens if the shows start at an awkward time like, say, 8:25? What do you fill in with while waiting?

Anyway, if you were planning on recording anything Thursday, best to leave extra time on your machine. Or you may literally not hear the end of it.

As usual, I will record off the West coast Seattle stations.
