CRTC Claims Your Internet Speed Is As Advertised

The CRTC has issued a report that claims major ISPs "have met or exceeded the maximum download and upload speeds they advertise."

I won't necessarily argue the results of the tests, which were conducted nationwide last October. (Although it was Bell cheating me out of an advertised speed with no reimbursement that finally got me to leave them for good many years ago.) But it's interesting how the CRTC is siding with the government on denying smaller ISPs like Teksavvy equitable access to existing lines, thereby forcing them to substantially raise their rates. (This was noted in a thread here recently.)

If you're curious about whether your Internet connection is up to speed, you can take an online test or participate in the next phase of this research. Find out how here

Based on repeated testing, I find Netflix's test site to be more accurate.
