CP24 Declared Raptors Losers Of Game 3

CKTB’s Tom McConnell had audio on his show Friday of the last 0.5 seconds of the now infamous Raptors playoff game. But it came from CP24 and not TSN. And it happened when the team was trailing and had called a time out with just half a second left.

The CP24 anchor could be heard saying the Raptors have lost Game 3 and a static on-air graphic declared the same thing. Then they threw to their reporter, who was at the in-car fan gathering, and she boldly watched that last half second as the crowds roared and the horns honked like mad.

They went to a break and when they came back, the graphic had been changed to declare the Raptors the winners – and no mention of their error just two minutes earlier. They’re lucky that those who were truly interested in the outcome were almost surely not watching the all-news station at that moment.

All of which goes to prove what Yogi said: “It ain’t over till it’s over.”

Even if CP24 says it is.

it would be interesting to hear the last second of the Celtics radio broadcast.
