More Buffalo radio hosts are off the job temporarily, forced to take unpaid rotating 3-week non-consecutive absences until at least July, as the economic effects of COVID-19 continue to reverberate. Among the talent getting the bad news: Shredd & Ragan from Edge 103.3, Bill Lacy of WHTT-FM, and three on air staffers from WGRF, 97Rock.
The bulk of those affected seem to be morning show hosts, who you might think would be the key people to stay. But they also tend to make the most money, which may explain why they'll be on again and off again until the summer.
Owner Cumulus claims it's either this or firing other staff members - and the company says it didn't want to start doing that.
