Good Increase in Ratings for Grey Cup

Despite being a fairly one sided contest, yesterday's Grey Cup game between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Hamilton Ti-Cats had a 19% audience increase over last year on TSN/RDS.  TSN was Canada's most watched television network on Sunday.   Numeris released overnight numbers earlier today.

An average of 3.9 million Canadians watched the game yesterday, with the audience peaking at 4.6 million towards the end of the game as Winnipeg defeated Hamilton 33-12.  Approximately 9 million people watched part or all of the contest yesterday. The 107th Grey Cup achieved a 31% audience share, meaning that nearly 1 in 3 Canadians watching television tuned in to the game.

Re: Good Increase in Ratings for Grey Cup

I have to admit I was extremely pleased with the final score. As a long suffering Argo fan [there are a few] it was most pleasant to see the Tiger Cats get stomped on. This year Hamilton had their best record in team history in almost every category and they couldn't win the game that mattered most.

Re: Good Increase in Ratings for Grey Cup

The CFL  eastern and western playoff matches were also way up for ratings this year. Numeris is showing 1.258 million viewers for the CFL playoffs on November 17th on TSN/RDS, a big jump of 27% from 2018.
The CFL playoffs at #16 were the only football games to make it into the weekly Top 30 shows November 11 to 17 2019..
