She was the first African-American to ever headline her own network show ("Julia") and became something of a Dynasty diva in her later years.

I usually watched Julia on Tuesday nights right after Mod "Solid, Man" Squad. Also, Would the ch 10 in the Closeup preview be CFPL? In those days, Canadian channels got pre-release rights to series and ran them several days before the U.S. networks.

I guess it depends on which edition of TV guide is shown. If it was a western ontario edition of TV guide, with the 10 filled in, it would be CFPL. However in the western edition CKNX Channel 8 should have been shown as well. My foggy memory does seem to remember that CBC used to allow affiliated stations to run a few shows at a different time than the network, so this could be why CFPL is alone in the close up highlight.
CKLW TV was a CBC affiliate, but I don't believe they were allowed to run much US programming since they were considered part of the Detroit market. Even though Canadian networks often did run US programming prior to the American network, CKLW was likely the exception.
Don't know how complete wiki's list of US series that CBC aired, but Julia didn't come up on the list that I saw. Although I always thought that they did run the show, at least for the first season.
