Rogers Media cannot be pleased with this years on field results, yes, it was a re-building year and it was to be expected...but the team had over 580,000 fewer fans come out to games this past 2019 regular season.
Baseball attendance in general was down slightly this year and according to earlier reports back in July so were T.V. ratings for baseball.
For those on Big Yella who are sports fans, I'd expect some more off season wheeling and dealing for the Blue Jays, because I am not sure that the fan base that was so "into it" a few years ago, will buy into another 2 years of losing records and mediocre signing.
I also don't expect Rogers (the ownership group) to stand idly by as well.
Here is more on baseball's plight...

When you have eight American League teams with losing records [six with 90+ losses] and six National League clubs [4 with 90+ losses] in the same boat, it is not surprising MLB attendance is down. Clearly, if you put a winning and/or competitive team on the field [Yankees, Dodgers, Astros, Cubs, Cardinals etc.] fans will show up. The only ** in that theory is the Tampa Rays who for the last two seasons have put up 90 and 96 win totals. This year, they will play the Houston Astros in the ALDS. Yet, for the fifth consecutive year, the Rays will finish dead last in AL attendance. This year averaging roughly 14,500 per game. The team still makes money due to a recently signed 15 year deal with FOX Sports Sun. According to Sports Business Daily, the contract is worth $1.25B which will earn the Rays about $83M per year.

Wouldn't surprise me if Rogers sold the Jays and the Dome to help recoup the tens of millions lost in their disastrous NHL deal...they'd likely work a long term official broadcast rights agreement into any deal though...overall baseball is not ageing well with younger viewers/listeners...too many games, games lack action and are usually well over 3 hours, etc, etc...

They could always rightsize their bloated radio and television assets. They certainly don't need six people per region to provide the same content.

TB will make 83M but have given permission by MLB to explore the possibility of playing half the season in Montreal. So how real is that, and how important is that 83M in the long run?
Do Mike Willner and Ben Wagner work for the Jays or Fan 590? The anncrs' employer(s) at one time was part of the copyright disclaimer. I haven't heard that as part of the disclaimer in years.
The Jays played more competitively in 2019 than their record indicates and have Vlad Jr, Biggio and Bichette at the major league level as a group, and I thought their presence would mean a more entertaining (read: tix sold) brand of ball during the rebuild.
