Peterborough Stn. Needs Hockey Voice - But There's A Strange Twist

The guy Extra FM in Peterborough had broadcasting the Petes games has quit suddenly to return back to his native Saskatchewan. And with just weeks left before the games begin, they have no one to take the mic.

It sounds like a good training gig for an up-and-coming would-be pro sports announcer, but there's a joker in this deck. In classic small town radio fashion, the person who fills the role is also expected to work in the sales division when they're not out covering the games.

A sales guy cans a respected play-by-play guy who has even done the Olympics, and it doesn't work out.  Awkward.  Does the sales guy eat crow and hire back the former play-by-play guy?

"A different direction" = "our new direction is to be short-staffed" ??????

Looks like they found somebody. I wonder how he'll do in the sales department?
