I have a Sonos box hooked up to my computer which gives me my internet radio via Tune in. Initially 97ROCK and WHTT came in crystal clear. They were removed from Tune in because of some dispute with Cumulus Media, which owns both stations. Apparently the dispute has been resolved, and all Cumulus stations are back on Tune in. However, I cannot receive them. I contacted Tune in and with a little digging on their part, they informed me that both stations use a PLS stream which is not compatible with my Sonos box. Am I SOL or should I contact the station for some advice. Thanks for any input you may have. Both stations come in great on my phone through Simple Radio/Streema, but that doesn't help at home.

All you need really is a VPN of some sort.
Bitdefender has an annual fee of $39.99 (US) for their VPN.
With that you can click on "USA" and the stream will most likely run hassle free.

Mace I am not sure where you are but I just tried both stations on a Sony receiver from the 1980's and got a passable stereo signal with just indoor antenna placements. The receiver has a "Hiblend" option for less wide but clearer stereo and the signal sounded good on that but I have just switched to regular stereo and it's fine on that as well and I have actually kept the radio on as 97 Rock seems to be having a Psychedelic Relic" weekend.

AM 740 has a strong 96.7 signal bleeding into 96.9 in various parts of Toronto.
Plus also, isn't there a Humber college low power FM @ 96.9 or something?

You are right I have heard the Humber station on the 401. The Zoomer translator can be heard here in Pickering with a sometimes a passable stereo signal. On the Sony receiver if I switch to wide band from normal on 96.9 I do get interference from it but on other receivers that does not seem to the the case. The wide band option on the Sony is seperate from the stereo, hi blend and mono option.

Hey Fitz, I live in the Avenue Rd/401 area so even if I had a receiver, I would never get 97ROCK because of Radio Humber on the same frequency. When I upgraded my "Entertainment System" last year, I opted for an Naim amp/Sonos box setup for internet radio. In my car, to the east GRQ improves once I reach Scarborough and to the west 427/QEW pretty good. At home, I guess I will have to settle on my smartphone with headphones. Thanks for your suggestions. Much appreciated.
