Re: Fall PPM's

I'm not sure where you got this, but I find it almost impossible to believe that 640 beat 1010 and that CFRB fell that far that fast. They've never done a 1.9 in the station's history. What was your source?

I'm a Numeris subscriber. It's worth remembering that the otherwise meaningless 6+ numbers are usually what hits here first.

Re: Fall PPM's

Not trying to doubt you, but according to this chart from Numeris, released on Wednesday, the numbers tell a very different story. This one gives CFRB a 6.2 share, with 640 getting its usual 2.2 (although I think that's up a touch from the last time.) Either way, that RB number can't be right.

It also suggests CBC Radio 1 is the new king, beating CHFI by a full point in share.

Interesting to see the alignment, though, especially given how busy a news year it's been.

That's 12+. There's a reason they put that out there for free; it doesn't mean anything.

Re: Fall PPM's

I have to admit I was shocked to see that AM640 beats NT1010 in the M25-54 demos. CFRB also dropped a full share point A12+ from last Fall's PPM Rating results. So did 680NEWS. Both stations are now tied at 6.3 and 6.2 in the A12+ demos. But in the 25-54 demos 680NEWS has a 6.8 share M25-54 to CFRB's 1.8 share.

I'm sure NT1010 has good numbers in some of their dayparts. I don't get to see those numbers. But there might be some nervous hosts as a result of these ratings. But heh! It's radio. It's part of the game.

Re: Fall PPM's

I will defer to those who can read these things better than me - which is just about everybody! But given the Patrick Brown drama, the Ontario election and all the craziness in Ottawa and Washington these past few months - red meat for talk radio - I still don't believe CFRB could possibly have fallen that low.

Re: Fall PPM's

AM talk as a format everywhere is aging really quickly, and it's being split by two stations here. That's when wild swings start to happen.

Re: Fall PPM's

Firing Sue-Ann Levy doesn't seem to have hurt GNR 640 at all.

- Or Lou, or Cam, or the 'Beauties', or the Menzoid, or any of the other former regulars.  No big surprise.

Cam was pure entertainment gold. He was so amusing that had another gig getting paid by a bar to sit there all day Sunday and watch football.
