Bob Rivers also penned this little seasonal ditty. Pretty sure this didn't make the CHFI Christmas playlist. ![]()

The snowflakes would complain about this one.
The CBSC would get a complaint about CHFI if they played this one.
So many of his christmas songs, as funny as they are, probably could'nt air theese days.

CHFI is just a cookie cutter station. Whatever music test they did was probably done once in one place many years ago. Then they just press repeat and the same songs over and over.
What's good for Toronto, is good for Kitchener, Ottawa and other places where there is a Rogers station playing Christmas music. (give or take, with room for a new song here and there)

I am pretty sure Rogers does not have a station in Ottawa that plays Christmas music.

Audacy owned star, but they still let star have variety in there playlist.
Standard, then astral owned EZ rock, but they still had more variety than CHFI does.
Stingray owns VOCM, but VOCM has the most christmas music variety in canada.
Rogers has no excuses, there just making excuses to be boring.

Heh, I am corrected indeed! Somehow I thought Rogers Kiss 105.3 was the station that goes all Christmas there,
but I am indeed Wrong. It's Bell's Move 100 that does that. Thanks for spotting my error.
In other markets though, the Roogers Christmas cookie cutter is very much alive. What's good for one market is good enough for another.

You know what is funny about Move 100 going all Christmas? They won't announce the date in advance. I guess only C-SIS knows.

I think my favourite Christmas song is “I Believe in Father Christmas” by the late Greg Lake. It isn’t the usual Christmas saccharine and I enjoy the music, very English sounding! I know AM740 plays it a bit around the Big Day and other stations probably do as well. It was used in a commercial here years back, which surprised me at the time since it wasn’t that well known in Canada.

Mine too! There's actually two versions of that song, I prefer the one with the symphonic ending.
Another one of my favourites is Elton John's "Step Into Christmas." It's a really fun-sounding song and to the best of my knowledge, there's no cover version of it out there anywhere (at least not any well-known covers), so it doesn't wear out its welcome near as much as other Christmas favourites.
Oh yeah, this is also another favourite of mine... ![]()

Both I beleev in father christmas and step into christmas, CHFI play them.
The muppits and john denver's version of we wish you a merry christmas, the last time I heard that on radio was on EZ rock or star 102.5.
Same with there version of the 12 days of christmas.
John denver also does this one which I love.
There's other versions of this one also.
Youtube link below.
The version I will link of this heartfelt song is not john denver's because I could'nt find his anywhere on youtube.
Its by a singer named daniel oh donnal.
