The big Alberta referendum is tomorrow and it should be a very interesting night for all of those interested in Canadian politics.
CTV News Channel and CBC News Network will both have coverage more or less beginning at 5pm with results rolling in after 10pm. The CBC main network will have coverage beginning at 10pm.
Vassy Kapelos has an extended version of Power Play running from 5 to 10:30pm followed by results on CTV News Channel.

I wonder if she'll be available for her two hour show on iHeart Radio, which runs at noon Monday on CFRB. My guess is no, and there will be a guest host in her place.

While the "remain" side is likely to garner the most votes, what will be interesting is the margin of victory, If it's closer than expected (even if it's not), you can be sure the issue of Alberta separatism will not be going away. It will - as paterson1 suggested - be "a very interesting night."

If the news media covering this event do not consistently refer to the leavers as livestock fuckers then they simply cannot be redeemed.

Communicating over the weekend with family members and friends who reside in Alberta, it was about a 70-30% split with the majority voting to remain as Canadians. One of my cousins told me that the whole ordeal has caused alot of turmoil with some people now not speaking with family and neighbors anymore.

A friend of mine in Edmonton ended up canceling their Thanksgiving dinner as family members were not talking to each other over this. He said that it meant more turkey for him! However, it bothers me that the States have their nose in this, yet just warned Canada over US election interference. Go figure.

It's the trucker convoy v2.0 and should be analysed as such - a germ of legitimate grievance overwhelmed by grifters and parasites well-lubricated by foreign funding (American and Russian) and logistical support (mostly American).

Premier Danielle Smith has her hands full with her United Conservative Party members and caucus. She has caucus members that are separatists and a sizeable chunk of people who vote for the party are as well. Going to be a fascinating night. Like election night I will be bouncing between CBC and CTV news networks. As mentioned before the CBC main network also has coverage at 10pm.

That's indeed the problem - a wee drop of truth spun by grifters for their political and often personal gain. They love the uneducated, who are easily manipulated into true believers who willingly spin the wheels! Of course, all powerful entities and elite groups do this to varying extents, not just Truckers / Magats / Alt-Right. One little discussed political result is tug of war between ideologies, so that solutions to real problems get nit-picked, become unduly controversial, and either die on the table or get bastardized into a meaningless, ineffective and often destructive compromise - rather than using different points of view to actually improve or modify proposed solutions. Safe injection centres come quickly to mind.

It's as expected , majority vote to remain in the federation of Canada.

I did not get the chance to watch much of the coverage. How late did CBC & CTV stay on with their specials following this story? It must have been a very late night.

The results started coming in a bit after 2am our time apparently. This morning at 6am the main separation question was about 76 to 24% to remain in Canada. The other questions were still being counted but some like a more say with immigration in Alberta were leading. All ballots were counted by hand and the separation question were done first. All of the questions were separate ballots, and some people didn't complete all of them.

I did hear Tuesday on CBC that one town or township voted in majority for separation.
