The former CFRB morning show host will be bringing his podcast to the station on weekends.
He promises some nostalgia in the show, with his first episode being an interview he did with the late David Marsden.
It runs at 10 PM Saturdays, starting this weekend.

I have listened to a couple of Woloshyn’s podcasts, pretty good stuff. I think it’s great that CFRB are airing them but why not air them earlier in the day? The weekends are basically reruns so a daytime broadcast could be an option.

Woloshyn isn't the only one returning to 1010's airwaves this weekend.
If the reports are true, Jack Berkovits begins his show on Sunday at the station, a return appearance of a program that ended rather abruptly the last time.
The show runs from 2-4 PM on Sundays.
Listen while it lasts.

Can’t do it, Gene Stevens’ Vintage Favourites airs in that time slot on AM740! (But I will check it out for a couple of minutes all the same!).

Listeners to Mr. Stevens' weekly show point out that (in their opinion) the first hour (2:00 - 3:00) is "don't miss". After that first hour, it sounds like it was created from the CHUM FM and CHFI familiar play lists

Really? But have you actually listened to it? Because I have tuned in for several years and think your listener friends are way off base. And who are these listeners you speak of? I somehow doubt people go around discussing their take on an AM740 Sunday afternoon program, except maybe on a radio based forum, like SOWNY, and to date I have yet to read this POV about Vintage Favourites brought up here. Maybe it’s just you, Dicky Doo, yet I somehow doubt you have ever listened to the show, have you?

Nice welcome change from the boring and eritating the social podcast in the satturday 10 pm slot.
Nice to hear Ted again on the radio.
Hopefully the halenda's meets adds come back.

The first episode to air on CFRB, with the late David Marsden telling old radio tales, was terrific. He talked about everything from meeting his idol, Dick Biondi, at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, how he got his on air name, his start in Chatham, his time in Montreal and how he got hired at (and then left) CHUM-FM to his early days at the Little Yellow House, a dump that ultimately became CFNY.
It's very entertaining, drops a lot of famous names, including a very weird story about Merv Griffin.
If you missed it, you can hear it here.
It's well worth your time.

So if you’ve been listening for years, why are you referring to “listeners opinions “ and not giving your own opinion? Plus, if you’re a listener, for years, you would know what you posted was inaccurate, as Vintage Favourites doesn’t focus on AC, which is what CHFI and CHUM FM playlists consist of. Vintage Favourites plays “ vintage” music. Actually listen to the show before commenting inaccurately on it please.

You have to agree that today's Vintage Favorites program was a hummmm dinger. When was the last time you heard "Let's Think about Livin" by Bob Luman? Or "A Million to One" by Jimmy Charles? The other eight tunes are also memorable to many fans of the oldies
D.D.
Vintage Favorites isn't for every one, due mainly to the demographic makeup of Zoomer's audience. However Gene Stevens consistently provides excellent nostalgic entertainment according to a quickie read-back of Sowny - contributor comment. HINT, the first hour, 2:00 to 3:00 pm generates the strongest raves. Rave On!

Wow, Scarboroughbluffs, you really need to get a new transcription service.

Yes. Many users have complained about this and my more detailed post back here was ignored. I almost feel like we're all being "punked" or something, it's just for that user's amusement and there's no visual impairment issue.
The fact is that no commercial product today (or even those going back to older than a decade) would generate such frequently nonsensical words and spellings. The basic features of most transcription programs today have a dictionary, contextual indications of problem areas (similar to grammar check), have a synonym pass, etc., much less intelligently understanding the word. The only thing I can think - assuming we're not all being punked - is the user is literally dictating every letter of a word in some sort of character entry (speaking) mode, and their spelling is of poor skill. There is no way any product out there would still be in business generating such terrible output - and all the intelligent work was available pre-AI, I can't imagine how much better it is today.
It's very distracting and undermines any meaning meant by the posts. Wish there could be some improvement somehow.

I think we are being punked AspectRatio and I no longer take their post seriously. In fact, I often skip over them as they put a fire in my brain!!

Not sure how a post on Ted Woloshyn turned into this, but let me weigh in. I agree that the posts of SB99 are sometimes incoherent. But for now, I have to take his word that he is visually impaired. If I ban him from the site because of spelling mistakes or his apparent and unfortunate loss of sight, that would be a horrible injustice.
If he is, as some here say, "punking us," I assure you he would be gone the instant it can be proven. For now, I do not want to banish someone for bad spelling or grammer in case they do have that unfortunate affliction. But I will be keeping my eye (no pun intended) on this and appreciate posters bringing it back to my attention.

Sounds good RA, thank you!

Me too, RA. But I might point out that you must mean 'grammar' not 'grammer'. Unless you're somehow weaving Kelsey Grammer into this... ![]()

Sorry about that. The weird thing is knew that but my fingers typed it like that anyway! (And at least Kelsey was in a TV show about radio!)
