I was watching the Dodger/Brewer baseball game on FOX29. Right at 7:30 they switch to a simsub of Family Feud on CITY. I switched over to KCPQ Seattle to continue watching. Yes I know I could have watched on Sportsnet, but it is the principal. I pay for FOX29 and am not getting it. I phoned Rogers to complain. I tried to explain that it was a simsub issue on Rogers end. I might have been talking a foreign language. Not a clue as to what I was talking about. They said they would have to reboot my box. I told the tech rep to leave my damn box alone and that he was clueless and uneducated about how simsub works. Then I hung up. WOW! Someone woke up at Big Red. As of 8:05, baseball has returned to WUTV. Only took 35 minutes and two missed innings.

And that, my friends, is why I refuse to have cable or use Rogers for anything. Not to mention the prices they charge.

However, when you live in an apartment that 1. does not have a balcony and 2. faces north, OTA is not an option.

You are unfortunately correct. Are you in one of those places where you can opt for another provider or does Rogers hold you hostage - it's Big Red or nothing?

Under CRTC law programming only has to be 95% identical. An error must be spotted and cleared before more than a 5% programming difference occurs.

Up until a few years ago that was the case. Now I could go with Bell Fibe. When I first moved in back in December 1991, I had a 12" Zenith b&w set. If I put the antenna against my living room window I could get ch 2, 7, 17 and 29 snowy with minor ghosting but it was watchable. Could never get WIVB. Occasionally, I would get WROC from Rochester. The only Canadian channel I had issues with was CHCH. When I bought my first colour tv [Zenith 20"] in March 1992, I finally called Mr. Rogers. As a new customer, he couldn't work fast enough to welcome me to his neighbourhood by offering me "Everything" for the regular price of around $25/month for three months. After the three months were up, the only extra channel I kept was TSN.

I'm wondering if it was actually done on purpose, hidden as a mistake. A program that just happened to be broadcast by Citytv, and the same game was on one of their other owned channels. It seems to me Bell sometimes does the same tricks with CTV and TSN programming. It seems to me to be more of a passive-aggressive game to still get us to change the specialty sports channel they happen to own and get all of the Promotional revenue
