Every year, the network lucky enough to have the Super Bowl gets to pick one show it really believes in to occupy the time slot after the game ends. This year, for the first time a long time, it's ABC. And now the network has picked the one series it think will hold the huge audience the football finale attracts.
This year's choice: High Potential, a show about a cleaning lady with a keen eye for detail who winds up helping cops solve crimes. It's a big hit for ABC, their #1 show, but was held back from its normal fall debut in October this year. Now we know why. The drama's first episode of its third season will be shown whenever the Super Bowl ends, regardless of what time it finishes. (One year, the chosen program made it to air at 11:15 PM.)
The show picked for the coveted slot generally is one of the highest rated of the year. "Friends" holds the all time ratings record for this stunt positioning and this year, we'll see if High Potential can live up to its name when it airs at some point on Feb. 14th - Valentine's Day.
And what of CTV? They've gone in different directions over the years, but if memory serves, they own the rights to this show in Canada, so it's possible they could just simulcast the episode.

Since CTV owns the rights to High Potential, they will more than likely take the simsub advantage.

Why's it always a crime show after superbowl?
Is that what the networks think football fans watch?
And, as for our grey cup, what's ctv airing afterwords?

As noted, it's ABC's #1 show, so it makes perfect sense they'd cash in on it and place it in the biggest spot of the year.
If memory serves, CTV once used the Canadian show "Children Ruin Everything" for their post-SB show.

CTV has featured original shows various times after the Super Bowl. They ran 2 or 3 episodes of Letterkenny after the game (unedited) when it was starting to get traction on Crave in 2017. Also last year CTV featured the Crave original Borderline. Children Ruin Everything was in 2022.
It will be interesting to see if the Super Bowl continues to decline in popularity in Canada. Ratings have slid a couple of million over the past two years. Numbers have been more consistent south of the border. If the Bills were to get in the big game, would do wonders for the ratings in Ontario and likely the rest of the country.

I’m sure CTV will want to air a re-run episode of “Trouble With Tracy”

They'll almost certainly need to run something domestic after that marathon US broadcast.
