The Mississauga frequency is back on-air playing south Asian music on AM 1320. There's an ID, in either Hindi or Punjabi, stating their old orig. tagline of "The Voice of the City" in English, but I don't know what the rest says. Will try to use google translate.

Did you hear any djs?
And I wunder what there programing plans are now that they got rid of most of there brokerd programs.

I thought they surrendered their licence. Certainly they have lost or are about to lose their xmtr site. Yet I am hearing it downtown. Not a great signal but IDable inside my condo. Calls CJMR, and they say they're testing under Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. I haven't heard about any kind of application (though I've not been looking). So what's the story here?

I think there was word spreading that they kepped there licence or re-applied and there transmitter was at CKTB's existing site.
I hope they are broadcasting with a licence.
Any word on an ofisial launch date?

Try to get the brokered programs back, I'd imagine.

Its 1 of there longtime brokers, Arsh chavla if i'm spelling that corectly.
So, I wunder, is he programing the entire day?
And, I think they also kepped song of ukrain, but what about the rest of the day?
And is joy returning to 1250?

On 6 June 2026, Commission staff received from Trafalgar Broadcasting Limited (Trafalgar) an application 2026-0300-3 regarding the English language commercial radio programming undertaking CJYE Oakville and the Ethnic radio programming undertaking CJMR Mississauga, both of which ceased broadcasting on 13 January 2026.
This application presents a plan to resume broadcasting on both AM stations.
In light of the application filed and Trafalgar’s apparent willingness to continue the stations’ operations, staff is suspending the July 13, 2026 deadline until further notice.

I have to wonder - how dismal were the returns of being online only that they decided to resurrect a dead radio station?

Weren't there development plans for the site? If so, did these fall through?

An unexpected consequence, I'm sure. Maybe related to the brokered programming.

What I've heard CJMR has need sold or management has been taken over by former hosts. Quick search on Google finds many posts about this.

Wasn't the transmitter site subject to development? Maybe I'm wrong about that, but that's what I recall. If so, wonder what their site and power/array plan might be?

This is from a Broadcast Dialogue article from last January:
"Caine said the CJMR and CJYE transmitters will be “re-tuned” to the 610 AM frequency, upgrading the stations aging transmitters, estimated to be between 50 and 70 years old."
Now what?

Lights flickering before they go out?

Maybe even though they've bought some time for for both of them they won't actually be turning CJYE back on. New main for CKTB that way.

The big question remains the land ... and the ability to use anything remotely close to the kinds of transmitters previously used. And thus coverage area.

AI says the tx site is near Eglington east of the 403, north east of Square One. It also says they are running 10kW 24h into a Valcom whip. I don't think that antenna could handle that power.

Don't trust AI... 1320 was a 10K before.... not on a whip.... Valcom's max out around 5K.
It is possible they got ahold of an used AM transmitter to bring 1320 back on air. With the amount of transmitters being turned off by Rogers recently, I'm sure they could get one for a steal if they didn't have one already. As well, if they haven't taken down the old tower, it would be fairly easy to bring the site back online to get them going as long as the property wasn't sold. It appears to be a LMA structure currently.

A freind of mine wrote Connie Thiessen of Broadcast Dialogue to ask if she's heard anything about this. She was nice enough to write him back and say she'd spoken to the Whiteoaks station owner not long ago and she was surprised to hear about it.
"I i'viewed him a few weeks ago and he didn't mention it. They had reallocated the signal to boost CKTB into the Hamilton area, so we'll see what he says."
So expect an article eventually on the BD site.

Believe me I don’t. Just reporting findings. Nevertheless they are putting an ok signal into Port Hope. So it “sounds” like 10kWs.

I'm confused, is whiteoaks selling the station?
Is this an LMA?
Or is this fake news?
But, i think the lma is the corect answor.
